Dress Code

General

Academy Del Sol believes that what we wear, reflects who we are within. Our attire sends a message and we want our message to be a positive one. Parents are the most important key to making this successful. Please ensure that your child is in compliance within the dress code before leaving for school in the morning. The uniformed dress code is focused on modesty, neatness, and respect.

 

Embroidery Requirements:

  • All shirts must have embroidery

  • All purchases that require embroidery should be made through www.frenchtoast.com or from Clarissa's Embroidery at (520) 628-1525

  • Blazers (are purchased at the school and payment is due upon order placement)

 

K-8 Dress Code (BOYS) REQUIRED:

  • White, long or short sleeved oxford shirt with buttons and a collar – must have embroidery, must be tucked in, and sleeves must touch the wrist at all times for long sleeved shirts

  • Burgundy long sleeved oxford shirt with buttons and a collar – must have embroidery, must be tucked in, and sleeves must touch the wrist at all times

  • Neck tie – standard size in burgundy (except kindergarten)

  • Khaki pants – no stretchy/skinny jeans or denim. Must be dress pants with belt loops.

  • Solid black belt

  • Oxford shoe – closed toe, solid black, polishable

  • Blazer (available at the front office of ADS) – must have embroidery, 6th-8th grade only

  • Black socks

 

K-8 Dress Code (GIRLS) REQUIRED:

  • White, long or short sleeved button down oxford shirt or button down Peter Pan blouse (not a polo) – must have embroidery and must be tucked in

  • Tie – cross tie or standard tie in burgundy or burgundy plaid (except kindergarten)

  • Khaki or burgundy plaid bottoms – no stretchy/skinny jeans or denim, pants must be khaki dress pants with belt loop, skirts and jumpers must be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee, pencil skirts or khaki dresses (with embroidery) are permitted.

  • Solid black belt (with pants only)

  • Solid long white or burgundy socks, or white or burgundy tights with skirt or jumper, white socks with pants

  • Ballet flat or Mary Jane shoe – closed toe, solid black, polishable

  • Blazer (available at the front office of ADS) – must have embroidery, 6th-8th grade only


Additional Guidelines

  • No distracting hair pieces

  • Moderate jewelry is allowed. However, large, bulky, distracting jewelry (e.g. Hawaiian lei) is not permitted and students will be asked to remove such items at the discretion of Academy Del Sol staff.

  • Facial jewelry and body piercing is not permitted.

  • Earrings are permitted for girls only.

  • Hair should be clean, neat, and properly combed without the presence of hair coloring, bleaching, etc.

  • Fingernails should only consist of natural, pink, nail polish for females choosing to manicure their nails. No colors are permitted for males.

  • Hats, sunglasses, and gloves are not to be worn inside of the building during the school day. They are only to be used as protection against the weather while outside.

  • Tattoos (temporary or permanent) are not permitted. This prohibition includes pen, ink, or paint drawings on skin.

  • All clothing should be neat, clean, and in good repair. Cutoffs, clothing with holes, frayed hems, biker spandex, etc. are not permitted.

  • Shirts should be tucked in at all times.

  • Students are permitted to wear jackets or sweaters that are white, khaki, or burgundy. However, should their outerwear be of a different color, while permitted, students are to remove that item once inside of the school building and classroom.

  • Makeup (including lipstick) is not permitted.
